How do I place an order?
All orders must be placed online. We are not currently taking phone orders but if you want a more personal touch and have specific questions, then please email us at email@example.com and we will come back to you within 24 hours. We currently have a pop-up shop window display in Marlow, Bucks, where you can view some of our pottery if you live close by, and our website is open 24/7!
Can you help me with present ideas?
We certainly can. Within a couple of days we can suss out what you are looking for and source you the perfect piece of pottery - whether it is some stand-out ceramic homeware or a perfect present for teenagers, Dads, work colleagues, grandparents or long lost cousins! Is each product you sell a ‘one off’?
In many respects, yes, as no two handmade pieces of ceramics are the same. Our potters are creative types following their passion, so they don’t usually want to be put under undue pressure to mass produce identical items. Or certainly not for too long. Of course, our potters each have their own unique style, but they tend to still move along with the flow of life and their designs naturally change over time. Even if you have two potters with a similar style, they have different fingers and thumbs, plus glazes can be erratic and have a mind of their own.
All our collections are small batches sourced from cutting edge potters and sometimes we collaborate with the potter and have input into the designs. It is highly unlikely you will know anyone with an identical piece to yours. We know our customers are looking for stand-out homeware from talented artists and at Keeeps we spend hours in the relentless pursuit of the unique.
If you want something highly individual, look out for the 'Just for Keeeps' pieces on our product listings pages, where they are either complete one-offs or where they are design collaborations between Keeeps and the potter.
Do you do full sets of crockery?
We tend to sell pairs of plates, mugs, bowls etc, but if you like a particular style then we take commissions for larger sets, subject to potter workload. Because of the handmade nature of our products, not everything will be 100% identical (we love this about pottery!), and sets may take a little time to make, anywhere between 3 to 8 weeks, but we promise it will be worth the wait 😊 Just email us at email@example.com and we will talk through your requirements and help you order your dream set of crockery!
Is it possible to see the pottery I like before I buy it?
Good question and we understand why you would ask this! Pottery is all about the look and feel, and it often looks better in the flesh, so we are more than happy to help in this regard. We can either pop onto a Zoom call with you to show you the pottery, or if you live nearby, we can put the pottery in our pop-up shop window in Marlow for you to go and view it. What is the Imperfection Collection exactly?
The Imperfection Collection follows the potters’ tradition of selling ‘seconds’ and samples’, where glazes or clay come out of the kiln not quite as they were intended. We carefully select imperfect pottery such as this, where we think the piece is still worthy of being loved.
What is Throw-in Thursday exactly?
Throw-in Thursday is a collection of very latest products, that are released weekly to our customers. Whilst it happens every Thursday, there is no set time, and our loyal newsletter subscribers are given the first heads-up of their imminent release.
The name 'Throw-in Thursday' comes from the word 'Throwing', which is the concept of shaping and moulding clay between fingers and joints on a potter's wheel. This is done weekly as, traditionally, the potters' kiln is emptied of their latest work and they batch release their new collection. Each Thursday, Tamra handpicks and releases a bespoke collection for our pottery fans.
Can I put my Keeeps ceramics in the dishwasher?
We want all our items to be as practical as they are lovely, so you will find that a large number of them are perfectly safe to put in the dishwasher. This does, of course, depend entirely on each individual item and what techniques have been employed to lovingly craft it. Our website will contain further care instructions on each item so please make sure you check these details before purchasing.
How do I know if I qualify for FREE local delivery?
The Keeeps team deliver within a 5-mile radius of our office near Maidenhead in Berkshire, free of charge. When you complete your shipping address within your shopping cart, if you qualify for free delivery, you will be given this option on the shipping page. For further afield, we have chosen Parcelforce to carefully deliver your pottery to you. But, this is a flat rate of £5.95 for ANY sized parcel delivered anywhere in the UK.
I am worried the pottery will break in transit.
No one wants you to receive broken pottery in the post, not us, not the potter and definitely not you. We have researched and practised packaging over and over again to make sure our pottery is safe and secure. We wrap twice and provide plenty of cushioning so there is no room for movement in the double-walled box. We use the best (not the cheapest), trusted, reliable delivery company - Parcelforce. So far (touch wood), we have not had anything break. If, in the unlikely event it does, we will offer you an immediate and full refund and, if you want, our team will call you and work out a way to source you alternative products as soon as possible.
Can I choose a different delivery address?
Of course, you can choose a different address for us to deliver your order to. If you wish to deliver to multiple addresses, for example if you are buying multiple gifts to go to different recipients, then you will need to place separate transactions for each of the different delivery addresses.
Do you do international deliveries?
Yes, we do! Simply email us or message us on Instagram or Facebook, let us know: what you want to buy, your address, and timing requirement. We will then come back to you within 48 hours with a delivery quote.
Please note, as with all international deliveries, local customs fees may be charged on receipt of goods and you or the recipient would be responsible for these.
Are all Keeeps potters from the UK?
All our potters are UK based. This is in line with our sustainable objectives and the desire to support British artisans. Sometimes however, the Keeeps team come across incredible potters abroad whose work is worth the travel. We only order small batches in this way.
Aren’t you just another Etsy?
We love Etsy as it has opened up arts and crafts to the masses and continues to help support many artists worldwide. In short, Etsy is a website that acts as a middleman between the seller and the buyer. It has a huge following and it is an easier way for artist sellers to get noticed online without the slow burn of setting up their own website. What makes Keeeps different is that we spend hours sourcing great pottery direct from ceramicists. We visit their studios, have online chats, Facetime meetings, and pick up the dog and bone (phone). We know and love our potters. We pick only the best, most unique and always functional pottery. Keeeps curates and selects so you don’t have to trawl the web to find the latest ceramic trends. Where does the name Keeeps come from?
We get asked this a lot! Tamra our founder loves having a place to 'keep' everything at home, and her business idea grew from this organisational obsession along with her passion for ceramics. She initially thought about using 'Contain' or 'Holds' for her functional ceramics concept, but her stepson rubbished these ideas and suggested 'Keeps' instead! An ‘e’ was added to obtain the all-important unique web address, the kids approved, and so Keeeps was born :)
Can you gift wrap?
Yes, we would love to gift wrap your purchase if you need us to! Please note, we do not currently gift wrap larger items due to size restrictions. However, we stock a large range of small and medium sized items that can be gift wrapped. Simply check out our Gift Wrapped Collection for pieces that we can wrap and pop into our stylish gift boxes. Gift wrapping can be selected at checkout for an extra £5 (small box) or £6 (large box), depending on the size of the item. If you want to send it direct to the recipient and add a message then you can do that too. We also have stylish gift vouchers if you can’t decide what to buy.
Why isn’t the gift wrap option on the product I want?
Unfortunately, we do not currently gift wrap larger items due to size restrictions. However, we stock a large range of small and medium sized pottery pieces that can be gift wrapped. Simply check out our Gift Wrapped Collection for pieces that we can beautifully wrap for you.
Is your packaging and gift wrap eco-friendly?
Absolutely, this is so important to us! All of our packaging and gift wrapping is biodegradable and, the majority of it, reusable. Even the tape and document wallets are made of paper, and our gift wrap ribbon is made of cotton. The gift boxes are made of sturdy card and can be reused to store things in at home. The packing peanuts are made of corn starch and can be safely (and rather satisfyingly) dissolved in water or thrown into your compost heap.
We also insist on buying packaging and marketing materials that use FSC certified paper and cardboard, so we are only using paper made from sustainable sources.
Why don’t you do an e-gift card?
Whilst we know these are super convenient for last minute shopping, we are just not fans of emailed gift vouchers or scrappy print outs for gift cards! Our gift cards are beautifully designed and can be sent to you next day so you can get them really fast. If you are totally stuck and need a gift card sent today, then email us direct at email@example.com and we will hatch a plan!
How long before my gift card expires?
Keeeps gift cards are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
How can I check my gift card balance?
Simply contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you the balance update.
If I don’t spend the full amount, can I get cash back from my gift card balance?
Gift cards cannot be returned or refunded and unfortunately, we do not give cash back for any gift card balance. All balances must be spent at Keeeps.
How will the gift card look on arrival?
The gift voucher and all its packaging are fully biodegradable with high quality card for the gift card itself. The card sits within the voucher, which then sits within a sleeve, all looking very smart. We post the voucher in a cardboard eco-envelope. Click here to see how it looks.
What can you do if the gift card is damaged, lost or stolen?
